Valeo in the USA

With 10 production sites and 3 Development centers across the country, Valeo USA is one of the most successful and innovative companies in North America.

Profile

Valeo’s history in the USA started in 1980 with the creation of Valeo Auto industries Inc, based in Delaware to develop and sell Thermal Systems to major American automakers.

As the Group expanded, Valeo created joint ventures with Eaton, Osram Sylvania, and V. Johnson Enterprises, which highly developed Valeo’s leadership in North America. The Group also created a joint venture with Raytheon, which was eventually renamed Valeo Radar Systems and became a wholly owned subsidiary of Valeo.

Valeo acquired Blackstone and ITT Industries, an acquisition that significantly reinforced Valeo’s presence in North America and made the electrical activity one of the three world leaders. Several Valeo USA sites have received awards over the years. The Greensburg, Indiana site won the Governor’s Award for Environmental Excellence, and the Hamilton, Ohio plant won the Daimler Trucks North America Masters of Quality award.

In 2017, Valeo USA expanded its presence into the San Francisco Bay Area with a new engineering and innovation site in San Mateo, California.
The Group participates in important automotive events like the North American International auto show, and in the International Consumer Electronics show (CES) in Las Vegas, Nevada.
